I am addicted to Pinterest... Bad... I am not extremely creative, but I am a REALLY good re-creator!! Pinterest is where I get my ideas...
I have seen gallery walls for a very long time and I love the look... Pictures are so very important to me and I want to finally out them on display!
First, I love my foyer, but it needed some updating.... Before I started on the gallery wall, I wanted to give the stairs more character. This began the hair-pulling, pencil mark erasing, had to buy more trim at least once, project to add molding to the stairs...
Luckily, my husband is very handy and he has a large collection of tools! We first decided how high we wanted our chair rail. Using a chalk line, we installed the chair rail first.
Then, we had to decide the size of the panels. We made the panels going up the stairs a bit smaller and the panels on the landing larger. Figuring out the angles of the panels going up the stairs was a pain, at least until I came I the rescue! :) I can think things through, but Shane can make those things happen!!
Once the railing and panels were up, we found a beautiful table from Hobby Lobby (I spent more on this table than I usually would but I fell in love!!), baskets, a mirror, and a lamp that was a great find at the Goodwill! We spray painted, Cloroxed, cleaned and put up a perfectly good lamp ( under $5!!!)!
Now, my foyer is ready for the gallery wall!!
